Full Time; Partial Year Career


Starting Salary Range: $6,750/month to $9,166/month for 11 months.


Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Starting salary is based on established criteria including the number of years as a licensed psychologist and the type of experience (e.g. additional credit given for college counseling experience).


A partial-year career appointment is established to accommodate foreseeable seasonal fluctuations in staffing, operational, or other needs and contains regularly scheduled furlough periods during which the incumbent remains an employee and retains health benefits, but is not at work. Please note that the Licensed Psychotherapist's furlough period is for 4 weeks in summer (dates to be determined) and is unpaid time off.

Under the direct supervision of the Case Manager Supervisor, the Behavioral Health Consultant provides direct behavioral health assessment, intervention, and case management within a fast-paced Primary Care clinic to optimize whole-person health and wellness that supports the academic success of a highly diverse, multicultural student population.


Working collaboratively with colleagues from diverse clinical training backgrounds, performs psychological evaluation, diagnosis, psychoeducation, counseling and case management with individuals across a broad spectrum of developmental and psychological concerns that may affect physical, academic and personal functioning. Provides education and training to primary care staff on behavioral health related topics. In discharging these duties the licensed psychotherapist is expected to be keenly sensitive to issues of gender, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities, etc. and provides to counseling students with diverse backgrounds.


This position requires demonstrated specialization in clinical psychotherapy and assessment in the context of integrated health services, often identified as collaborative care, behavioral health, or behavioral medicine. A flexible, timely, and responsive approach to healthcare team/student needs is required as well.


Valid California licensure, in good standing, as a Psychologist
Or valid out of state licensure, in good standing, in Psychology
Out of State licensed psychologists are required to acquire California licensure within 180 days from either submitting the application or beginning California residency, whichever occurs first.
