Job Description

Sarah Lawrence College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in the Department of Psychology beginning fall 2020. We seek a scholar whose research and teaching interests are in the area of child clinical psychology.

Candidates should be interested in offering courses that include material from the perspectives of developmental, clinical, and cultural psychology, and where relevant integrating theory, research and observation. Specific areas of interest may include developmental theory, social/emotional/personality development, early childhood learning and play, and challenges to development from trauma, neurodiversity, family, and experiential factors.

Candidates should be prepared to teach seminar classes to small groups of students at both the introductory and more advanced level, in addition to individual work with students. This person will also be centrally involved in teaching and research with graduate students in the Master’s program in Child Development.

The application should include the following: Cover letter, CV, course descriptions for two proposed courses, sample of scholarly writing and three letters of recommendation. Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2019. Position will remain open until filled.
